William Robert OBrien Obituary

William Robert “Bob” OBrien, 73, died peacefully on Sunday May 21, 2023.

Bob was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. He graduated Andrew Jackson High School in 1967, where he met the love of his life, Linda. They were married in 1970 and spent their lives together, mostly in Orange Park, FL. As a young man, Bob was member of the Naval Air Reserves. Bob spent over 30 years as an electronics technician for AT&T. He and Linda purchased an undeveloped lakefront property near Hawthorne, FL in the 1970s. Bob and his friends cleared the lot and the waterline, and later in the 1980s they built a house on that property. Bob and Linda's friends and family have fond memories of spending time there. At that lake house, Bob and Linda taught almost every one of their family members and friends how to waterski, behind Bob's 1970 Glastron GT-160.

Bob was known for helping friends, family, and loved ones, for being very handy, and for always offering his help to friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda; his son Shawn (Jill); and grandchildren Rachel and Alex.
