She was predeceased by: her parents, Phyllis Parrott and Ernest Barthelemy; her stepmother Marie Barthelemy; and her siblings, Michael Barthelemy and Lisa Cochran.

She is survived by: her husband Michael John Labance, MD; her daughters, Lydia Maria Laurel-Hickey (Thomas Schmidt) and Mary Ashley Labance (Torrey Taylor); her grandchildren, Alyssa Maria Hickey, Robert John Hickey Jr., Kayla Ann Hickey, Paul Schmidt and Emily Schmidt; her nephews, Dustin Cochran, John Henry Barthelemy and Byron Barthelemy; and her niece Amy Barthelemy. She is also survived by extended family, and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home (2853 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park (2853 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759).

Memorial contributions may be made to the German American Friendship Society of Pinellas County, 8098 66th Street North, Pinellas Park, Florida 33781, or toward the college tuition of Karen's beloved grandchildren.
