He was predeceased by: his wife Seraphine P. Gardinal; and his son Claude P. Gardinal. He is survived by: his children, Christopher Gardinal (Diane), Lawrence Gardinal (Robin) and Lisa Del Grosso (Anthony); his grandchildren, Jason Lee (Melissa), Jason Richard (Andrea), Linsey (Missy) and Jordan; and his great grandchildren, Abigail, Jason (JJ) and Alex.

The family suggests that contributions in Gerard's memory be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
