He was predeceased by: his parents, Romeo Poirier and Germaine Poirier; and his siblings, Alice Girard, Pauline Grondin and Leo Poirier.

He is survived by: his wife Jeanne; his children, Robert Poirier, Patrick Poirier, Cathy Alicia and Paul Girard; and his siblings, Lena Turgeon and Paul Poirier. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
