He was predeceased by: his parents, Junior Taylor and Marie Green-York; his stepmother Mary Nina Brim Taylor; his half-siblings, Holly June Taylor (Huckleberry), Paul McKinley Sawyer (Kenny) and Richard Dale Sawyer (Ricky); his stepbrother Darrell Cooper; and his son-in-law Steve Thompson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Angela "Michelle" Thompson and Chastity Hope Gunter (Thomas); his grandchildren, Devon Russell, Michael Lewis, Steven Thompson, Trace Gunter and Holland Gunter; his half-siblings, George Taylor and Sherion Anita Dees Hamilton (John); his stepsister Frances Cooper Ruis; and his aunt Linda Louise York. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
