He was predeceased by: his father George Washington Darby (Fannie Mae); his wife Katie Darby; and his siblings, Jack Darby, James Alfred Darby and Dot Reeves.
He is survived by: his son James Darby (Shelley) of Louisville, Kentucky; his siblings, Billy Darby (Jackie) of Walnut Hill, Florida and Annette Hassebrock of Bratt, Florida; his grandchildren, Amanda Bohlen, Dylan Williams, Keri Darby, Austin Williams and Cody Darby; and his great grandchildren, Amirah Bohlen and Amani Bohlen. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home (9260 US-31, Atmore, AL 36502). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
