He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Myrtle Williamson and Willis; his former wife Robbie Rankin Brewer; his sons, Kevin Brewer and Joel Brewer; and his granddaughter Rhiannon Brewer.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his son John (April); his stepchildren-in-law, David Fagan and Rebecca Fagan; and his grandchildren, Joseph Brewer, Benjamin Brewer, Daniel Brewer, Thomas Brewer and Afton Fagan.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nashville Churches of Christ Disaster Relief.
