Though Jerry Wayne may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Jerry Wayne touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry Alton Mathis and Lucile Janie Tatum Mathis. He is survived by: his wife Anita Wadsworth Mathis; and his children, Fred Mathis (Jessica), Shaun Mathis (Cat), Barbie Hattaway (Andres Fermin) and Daphne Youngblood (Jesse). He is also survived by his four brothers, his three sisters, his eleven grandchildren, his four great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Shockley Springs Baptist Church (6935 Old River Rd, Baker, FL 32531).
