He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Burns and Lucille Burns; his siblings, Charles Burns, Ruth Jewell and Doris Scalise; and his close friend Alice Barnard.
He is survived by: his son Harold Burns; his siblings, Dwight Burns Sr. and Janet Sprague; and his caregiver Amanda Burns. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home (7433 Pine Forest Rd, Pensacola, FL 32526). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
