With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Charles Varner (Pensacola, Florida), born in Cincinnati, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 8, 2024 at the age of 83. He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Leroy Varner and Adele; his stepmother Marge Varner; and his sister Betty Varner Lawson. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Jean Mrusek; his children, Cindi Varner Crane (Steve) of Dataw Island, SC and Donald Ralph Varner (Lizette) of Hollywood, MD; his grandchildren, Noah (Rachel), Hannah Varner and Alex Crane (Ginny) of Woodstock, GA; his great grandchildren, Nate, Jenevieve, Corbin and Wade Crane; his brothers, Mike Varner of Pensacola, FL and Rodney Varner (Gail) of Mason, OH; and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Deye (Bob) of Naples, FL, Terry Mrusek (Lisa) of Reading, OH and Greg Mrusek of Lebanon, OH. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members.
After many battles with cancer and Parkinson's due to his exposure to Agent Orange, he is finally resting in peace. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Michael J. Fox Foundation or any Veteran association.
