He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard O'Neill and Rosemary O'Neill; his parents-in-law, Steve and Shirley Schmitt; and his grandchildren, Scott Charles O'Neill II and Myleigh Kathryn O'Neill.

He is survived by: his wife Stephanie O'Neill (Schmitt); and his children, Bernard Thomas O'Neill III (Malaysy Douangkesone), Scott Charles O'Neill (Leaona Andrews) and Nicole (O'Neill) Matson (James Matson). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren (2 deceased); and 8 great-grandchildren.
