He was predeceased by: his spouse Winifred A. "Sue" Ascroft; and his sibling Virginia Pote (Earl). He is survived by: his parents, William Ascroft, Sr. and Esther Alice Couper Ascroft; his children, Linda Ryan (late William), Michael Ascroft (Beth), Minch Ascroft, Jane Ascroft (late James Dwyer), Matthew Ascroft (Ariel), Ascroft Ryan and Michael Ryan (Elizabeth Rosenthal); his great grandchildren, Conor, Brynn, Colton and Ailynn; and his sibling-in-law John Burke (late Arlene). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
