He is survived by: his significant other Tomasa Torres; his children, Lydia Arvelo, Ruben Arvelo Jr. and Miguel Arvelo; his grandchildren, Brenda Velazquez, Nivea Arvelo, Rumarie Correll, Stephanie Arvelo, Nicole Moya, Natasha Moya, Ashley Arvelo, Patrick Arvelo and Alexandria Arvelo; his great grandchildren, Raylier "Puchito" Hernandez, Genessy Colon, Zoeliz "La Chachi" Hernandez, Adner Rodriguez, Luna Rodriguez, Nila Acevedo, Reyna Acevedo, Melissa Acevedo, Elijah Moya, Izaiah Moya, Genesis Flores, Mia Correll, Michael "Chabelo" Correll, Christopher Arvelo, Matthew Correll and Gracelynn Arzola; his great great grandchildren, Aleynis Rios, Romme Hernandez and Azaia Almanzar; and his sister Lidia Arvelo.
