He was predeceased by: his parents, Fausto Garcia and Alice Kamin; his brother Henry J. Garcia; and his nieces, Dawn Garcia and Stephanie Diaz Gomez.

He is survived by: his wife Nitza Diaz Garcia; his daughter Jennifer Garcia; his nephews, Hank Garcia (Hank) and Israel Diaz; his niece Neily Ann Diaz; his cousins, Carolyn Pietrodangelo Ayers, MaryAnn Pietrodangelo Baker, Madeline Pietrodangelo and Donato Pietrodangelo; and his mother-in-law Hilda Diaz Ramos.
