She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie McCormick (Buddy) and Elouise McCormick; her sisters, Cubie Jane Johnson and Sandra Dyan Wilcher; and her sons, Joe Nathan Ellis Jr. and Mark Anthony Ellis Sr..

She is survived by: her husband Joe Nathan Ellis Sr.; her daughter Angie Ellis-Austin (Austin); her son-in-law Charles Austin of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; her grandchildren, Marlana Ellis, Kendra Ellis, Mark A. Ellis Jr., Kimberly Ellis, Maggie Ellis, Jasmine Ellis and Candice Ellis-Flowers; and her mother-in-law Ida Wigfall of South Bend, IN. She is also survived by other relatives and friends including brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
