He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Lykes and Ada Kopystecky (DeVoe); his stepfather John Kopystecky; his brothers, Harry and Royal Lykes; and his daughter Madeleine Kurtiak.

He is survived by: his wife Helen; his sister Margaret Cerach; his children, Kevin Lykes, Maria Sodemann and Pamela LeBuffe; his grandchildren, Kyle Lykes, Robyn LeBuffe Cutlip and Adam LeBuffe; and his great grandchild Emerson Lykes.
