With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Willie James Commander Jr. of Panama City, Florida, who passed away on September 8, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie James and Mildred Commander. He is survived by: his wife Irene Commander of Panama City; his son Willie James "Jamie" Commander, III (Angi) of Wewahitchka, FL; his siblings, Charles Commander (Pat) of Lynn Haven, Sarah Everitt (Jim) of Lynn Haven and Judy Smith (Calvin) of Greenhead; his stepchildren, David Conrad (Nicole) of Birmingham, AL and Katie Seymour (Ryan) of Great Falls, MT; his grandchildren, Olivia, Claire, Cadance, Ryley, Charlotte, Owen, Cooper, Cannan and Camryn; his great grandchild Camden; his aunt Ruby Ryals of Troy, AL; and his nieces and nephews, Shanun, Charlie, Sommer and Tracy.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 15th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Southerland Family Funeral Homes and Crematory (100 E 19th St, Panama City, FL 32405). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Emerald Coast Fellowship youth building fund in memory of Mr. James Commander.
