He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Wallis Newby and William B. Newby, Sr.; his former wife Imogene Hornsby of Childersburg; his son William B. Newby III; and also Imogene.
He is survived by: his daughter Virgina Victoria "Vikki" Newby (Neil Fievet); his wife Mary Lou Newby of Panama City; and his brother Pat Newby (Clarice). He is also survived by her children; three grandchildren, their spouses and children.
