William Francis left this world on January 12, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles W. Haupt and Honor Haupt (Gilmore); and his sister Jane Delaney (Haupt). He is survived by: his wife Jan (Jan); his children, Linda Miller (Rick), Maureen Hughes (Jeff), Michael and Laura Haupt; his grandchildren, Kristin Collins (Jerod), Ryan Miller, Terri Logan (Ken), Kaitlynn Gildner, Daniel Hughes and Briana Hughes; his great grandchildren, Logan, Kinley, James, Jackson and Quinn; his siblings-in-law, Maureen (Foley), Karl Gumpright, Daniel and Carole Foley; and his story-time creation Harold Reed. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kent-Forest Lawn Chapel. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (1008 Fortune Ave, Panama City, FL 32401).
When Bill was asked what he would like for Christmas or his birthday, he would suggest that someone make a charitable donation. Those who would like to honor Bill's memory may like to donate to St. John the Evangelist Regional Catholic School, in Panama City; the Stonington Historical Society, in Connecticut; or St. Andrews State Park, in Panama City Beach.
