With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Tommy Mitchell Cooley Sr. of Panama City, Florida, born in Alford, Florida, who passed away on October 12, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus Cooley and Bessie Mae Cooley; his siblings, Earl (Margie), Glen, Don, Harold (Helen), Paul, Sarah Grace Crews (Gene) and Modray Knauss; and his brother-in-law Bill McKeithen.
He is survived by: his wife Olivia Byrd Cooley; his children, Tommy Mitchell Cooley, Jr. and Elizabeth Cooley Nelson (Justin); his grandchildren, Oliver, Adeline and Martin Nelson; and his siblings-in-law, Ivy Cooley, Alice Cooley, Beth McKeithen, Pam Weathersby (Ronnie), Betsy Byrd, David Knauss and Wyatt Byrd (Dagmar). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrew Community Medical Center, 3101-B Hwy 98 West, Panama City, FL 32401 in memory of Tommy.
