He was predeceased by: his mothers, Joyce Blackshear and Lela Chambers; his siblings, John D. Blackshear and Jo Ann Garmon; his grandmother Alice D. Watson; his parents-in-law, John W. and Wynola W. Devine; and his sister-in-law Sandra K. Devine.
He is survived by: his wife Lisa W. Blackshear; his children, Travis H. Blackshear and Katie Leann Blackshear; his brother Andrew Craig Blackshear; his grandson Kash Middleton of Panama City, FL; his sisters, Shirley Lynn Chamber Humbers (Wesley) and Nancy Chambers (Jim); his sisters-in-law, Peggy Blackshear and Ginger Brock (Richard); his aunts, Judie Ellis, Barbara Nelson and Linda Judah; and his nieces and nephews, Dawson Blackshear (Monika), Eddie Blackshear (Debbie), Lee Blackshear (Terri), Johnna Bole, Joseph Melvin, Jessica Melvin, Elizabeth Trusty and Rebekah Chambers. He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews and so many other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the International Myeloma Foundation in memory of Herman O. Blackshear.
