We bid farewell to Wally Childress of Panama City Beach, Florida, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 25, 2024 at the age of 79. Wally touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, June Childress and Shearer; and his sister Diane Childress. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Childress; his children, Marla Webb (Tim Bowen) of Newburgh, IN. and Mark Childress (Lori) of Libertyville, IL; his grandchildren, Haleigh Bennett (Jake), Sidnee Calvert, Drake Calvert (Chandler McBride), Grant Webb, Gia Webb, Gavin Childress and Cole Bowen; his great grandchildren, Sunny, Ozzie and Gus Bennett; and his siblings, Gary Childress of Colorado and Connie Leonard of Colorado. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Campbell Funeral Home (609 W Main St, Carmi, IL 62821). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Wally's memory to Pets at Risk and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
