He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie McDowell and Trudie McDowell (Phillips); his brother Willis E. McDowell; and his daughter Charis Adams Worley. He is survived by: his wife Josephine "Jo" McDowell; his children, Sonya Capps (Chuck) of Bristol, Bev McDowell of Ponce Inlet, Blanche Thomas (Geren) of Eatonton, Georgia, Myra Carnley (Mitch) of Enterprise, Alabama and Tom McDowell (Debbie); and his half-brothers, Tony McDowell of Tallahassee and Terry McDowell of Bristol, Florida. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren and 18 Great grandchildren.
