He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hammons and Gwendolyn Spradley Hammons; and his sister Angela Hammons. He is survived by: his wife Gail Rice Ashmore Hammons; his sister Sherry Hammons Stegall; and his cousin Melanie Godsey.
