She was predeceased by: her parents, Alice Thomas and Willie Morton; and her husband Jimmy Forest Black. She is survived by: her sons, Jimmy Forest Black, Jr. (Lorie) of Youngstown, Florida, John Paul Black (Kim) of Rio Rancho and Jody Ray Black (Chad Runyon) of Walnut Creek, California.; and her grandchildren, Bryan, Tyler Black of Panama City, Renae Black, Amanda Fossett of Santa Fe, Taylor Black of Phoenix, Arizona and Riley Black of Albuquerque. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Harris County Friends of the Library or the Houston Arboretum.
