She was predeceased by: her spouse Rhett "Sonny" Mathews Young Sr.; her parents, Robert Kirkpatrick and Edna Hayes Kirkpatrick; her stepfather Aubrey Lawson; her siblings, Boyd Kirkpatrick, Frank Lawson, Jerry Lawson, Jim Lawson and Catherine Harrelson; her son Rhett Mathews Young Jr.; and her stepgrandson Adam Mincey.
She is survived by: her brothers, Guy Lawson (Dorothy), Johnny Lawson (Jo Ann) and David Lawson (Michelle); her daughters, Brenda Mincey (Edward) and Martha Murphy (Philip); her grandchildren, Christopher Thorne, Jennifer Murphy, Tim "TJ" Amerson and Julie Bryant (Matthew); her stepgrandchildren, Steven Mincey (Rachel) and Lisa Meyers (Jason); her great grandchild Grayson Bryant; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Victoria Mincey, Violet Mincey and Jakob Mincey (Kathleen).
