He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Strickland, Sr. and Lona Nichols (Cecil Nichols); and his siblings, Judy Smith, Larry Jack Strickland and Glenn Strickland.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda Strickland; and his children, JJ Strickland (Cindy), Rody Strickland (Morgan), Alysha Strickland, Deana Courson (Fred), Dax Courson, Morghan Courson and Chirstina (Glenn). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
