With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Francis E. Gregory of Palmetto, Florida, born in Meredosia, Illinois, who passed away on December 28, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Gregory and Della Surratt Gregory; and his siblings, Audrey Gregory, Hubert "Buzz" Gregory, Loretta "Jean" Drohan, Marlene Shepherd and Betty Irving.
He is survived by: his wife Betty J. Coats of Palmetto; his children, Rhoda Vortman (Mark) of Bluffs, Tina Freeman (Richard) of Jacksonville and Eric Gregory (Sandra) of Winchester; his grandchildren, Dr. Rebecca Vortman (Cory Lucas) of Murrayville, Andrew Vortman (Jenna) of Jacksonville, Dr. Kassie Missell (Kevin) of Dallas, TX, Hannah Vortman of Springfield, Nathan Freeman (Sarah) of Kansas City, MO and Matthew Freeman (Katie) of Ault, CO; his great grandchildren, Maddy Vortman, Will Vortman, Kylee Missell, Aiden Vortman and Kole Missell; his siblings, Mike Gregory (Pam) and Cecile Rohrer (Harold) of Peoria; and his sister-in-law Wanda Gregory of Bluffs.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Bluffs, Meredosia/Bluffs Rescue Squad, Green Pastures Christian Retreat, Chaddock or Western IL.
