He was predeceased by: his parents, Palestine Hess and Alice Hess; and his sister Shirley. He is survived by: his wife Pauline Day Hess; his sons, Dr. Stephen Hess and Dr. Michael Hess; his brother Douglas; and his grandchildren, Leo, Ethan, Stevie, Jackson, Sophia, Noah and Mattias. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
