Clarence James Thompson Obituary
Clarence James Thompson, 82, of the Villages, FL formerly of Miami Springs, due to natural causes entered peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. He went by the nickname "Rocky". His strong Christian faith guided his life and was a source of comfort for him while he was going through health problems the past few months.
He was born to the late Arthur and Dessie Lucas Thompson on August 26, 1940, in West Hamlin, WV. He graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1958. He served in the United States Air force where he was honorably discharged in 1966.
He graduated from Allegheny Tech in 1965 from the Industrial Electronics Program and also from the Chicago DeVry Institute of Technology in 1976. Most of his career he worked for Eastern Airlines as a supervisor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stephen J. Thompson and Alton Thompson; and a sister, Chyleen B. Moore.
He is survived by a brother, Truman A. (Nancy) Thompson and a sister Wanda L. (Rick) Myers; nephews Jeffrey Thompson, Chad Thompson, Ricky Myers, and Jeremy Myers; nieces Valerie Brackett, Jhynene Escalante, Amy Myers, Roberta Thompson, Jamie Thompson, and Dawn Thompson. Interment will be in the beautiful Bushnell National Cemetery for the military in Bushnell Florida. Rocky loved golfing, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cracker Barrel and Denny's restaurants, and watching movies, going to Christian gospel concerts and going on cruises with family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Missionaries fund at Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Indian Rocks, FL.
