He was predeceased by: his parents, Julie Bouchard Sylvain and Paul Sylvain. He is survived by: his wife Micheline Michaud Sylvain; his children, Marlene Freeman (Earl Freeman) and Paul Sylvain (Nancy Sylvain); his grandchildren, Travis Cotnoir, Patrick Cotnoir, Courtney Vessells, Olivia Sylvain, Simon Sylvain and Hailey Sadler (Caleb Sadler); his great grandchildren, Beau, Jhett, Heston and Raelyn; and his pet LuLu. He is also survived by other extended family in Texas; several nieces and nephews.
