Rose J. Cayton Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unfortunate passing of Rose Jean Cayton at age 75. On June 2, 2024, her beautiful soul went on to spend eternity in peace and love. Rose was born on October 5, 1948, in Pietraperzia, Sicily, Italy, and moved to the United States at nine years old in 1957 with her mother and father, Vincenza and Guiseppe Salvaggio. At a young age, Rose's innate sense of beauty flourished into her passion for Cosmetology. Other than utilizing her children to practice hairstyles to hone her skills (most of which had their memorable ups and downs), her artistic ability touched countless lives, brought many smiles, and her gentle conversations soothed many souls. As Rose grew as a beautiful person and soul, the lives she touched and the memories she left us with will forever be cherished. Momma Rose, as many came to know her later in life, became a sought-after comfort to have beside you, and a shining light to have in the room with you. From now until forever, Mom, Ma, Momma, Rose, Momma Rose, and Rosie will be the warmth we feel in our hearts and souls, knowing she embraces us.
Predeceased by her mother and father, Vincenza and Guiseppe Salvaggio, brothers-in-law Eric Rosberg and Frankie Palumbo, and her nephew Devin Rosberg, there is no doubt in my mind the Rose was welcomed to heaven with love, happiness, familiar embraces, and tears of comfort for such a joyful reunion.
Just as in heaven, those surviving Rose cherished her, and we will keep her memory close to our hearts and know she is returning to us that beautiful smile. Daughter Kristine Fiorentino, son-in-law Michael Fiorentino, grandson Michael Fiorentino, daughter Kimberly Ruggiero, son-in-law Daniel Ruggiero, grandson Christian Sanborn, granddaughter Tori Sanborn, grandson Braydan Sanborn, great-granddaughter Myah Sanborn, son Wayne Cayton, daughter in law Arwen Cayton, grandson Wyatt Cayton, granddaughter Ayla Cayton, daughter Joline Cayton, son in law Steven Beattie, granddaughter Jaylee Peer, sister Phyllis Palumbo, brother in law Joe Piro, sister Maria Rosberg-DeBye, brother in law Michael DeBye, nephews Derek, Devin and Drew Rosberg, niece Erika Rosberg, and so many more friends, family and loved ones. We are the lucky ones, the ones who have the honor to share with the world the beautiful story of the life of Rose Jean Cayton.
Services to celebrate the beautiful life of Rose Jean Cayton are set for Saturday, June 29, at 1:00 pm, with a memories video starting one hour prior at: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy.
