She was predeceased by: her parents, William Powell and Myrtle Blackwood; and her husband John McVay. She is survived by: her children, Jeffery McVay, Erroll Scott McVay, Jeffrey Lance McVay and Deidre Joy McVay; her grandchildren, Tiffany Mondré, Derrick, Kia and Nasara; her great grandchildren, Ebony, Andrew, Mylahvae and Lavlah King Aaliyah; and her friends, Jackie Buck and Carmel Hooke. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
