She was predeceased by: her husband Edward C. Ashby; her parents, Troy Lee and Clara Estelle Fountain Ussery; her sister Marjorie Ingram; and her brothers-in-law, David L. Gornto and Wendell Ingram.
She is survived by: her son Edward L.; her daughter-in-law Pamela Ashby of Eagan, Minnesota; her daughter Deborah; her son-in-law Bill Leavitt of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her sisters, Jane Gornto of Palatka, Liz Rhodes of Jacksonville and Rosie (Bill Long); and her grandchildren, B. J. Leavitt and Lauren Leavitt. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
