He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Hayes and Margaret Hayes; his wife Carol Hayes; his sons, Gary and David Hayes; and his siblings, Vera Williams and Herbert Hayes.

He is survived by: his daughter Kimberly Hammond; his son-in-law Brian Hammond; and his grandsons, Scot and Jake Hammond.
