He was predeceased by: his wife Muriel Kaplow Appel. He is survived by: his daughters, Joan Appel (Bill Reilly) and Sheri Appel Masse (Michael Masse); and his grandchildren, David Masse (Jenna Friedman Masse) and Jennifer Masse (Matt Starr).
