He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Elfriede (Turk); his parents, Anthony and Katherine (Lundy); his sons, Stephen (Lisa Grant) of Boston and David (Joanna Bolles) of New Canaan, Connecticut.; and his grandchildren, Poppie, Beckett, Ted, Harry and Paula.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Gene's honor to Waveney Care Center of New Canaan.
