She was predeceased by: her husband Don; and her parents, Shirl N. Baxter and Margaret J. Thomas. She is survived by: her children, Thomas Mertzlufft (Mirjam Vogel), Caitlin Brexel (Stephen Brexel) and Amy Mertzlufft (Pieter Halkema); her sister Barbara J. Baxter (Juan Antonio Rojas); and her grandson Aiden Brexel. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
