She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Legister and Ella May McLaren Legister; and her siblings, Harry Legister, Lawlice Scott (Lola), Lavinia Fleming (Chichi), June Mercedes Legister of Malcolm and Linda Legister Malloy.
She is survived by: her children, Randolph E. Allen, Jr. and Anjeanette M. Allen. She is also survived by numerous God-children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In honor of her efforts, Marva was distinguished as a recipient of the 1994 New York State Legislature's Nurse of Distinction designation which is based upon significant contributions to the field of nursing.
