He is survived by: his wife Lois Elizabeth Mitchell; his children, John William Mitchell III (Anne Elizabeth), Stephen Gregory Mitchell (Teresa Melinda), Claudine Marie Stueve (Eric Lynne) and James Mathew Mitchell (Angelleic); and his grandchildren, Brian James Mitchell, Brandon Thomas Stueve, Nicole Lynn Stueve, Andrew John Mitchell and Jacqueline Anna Mitchell.
