Violet A. Leland Obituary
Violet A. Leland, 83, of Palatka passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023 following an extended illness.
Born in Melbourne, Florida, Violet had lived in Putnam County for the past 67 years where she had worked in the tissue converting department for Georgia-Pacific for 42 years. She was a member of the Palatka Moose Lodge and the Palatka US Vets Post. Her family was her top priority. She loved motorcycles and spending time at the beach.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Andrew and Irene Nielsen; brother, Leroy Nielsen; sister, Caroline Duke; the father of her children, Doyle "Nick" Weaver, Sr.; mother-in-law, Helen J. Weaver; and her beloved pet "Scout.".
Surviving are two daughters and son-in-law, Cindy (Richard) Bullock of Hollister and Donna Bond of Satsuma; a son, Doyle (Bobbi Jean) Weaver, Jr. of Bostwick; seven grandchildren, Andy Duck, Nicole Collette, Alan Best, Matthew Johns, Jodi Weaver, Amber Keene, and Lori Bullock; twelve great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday evening, June 24, 2023 at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with funeral services at the funeral home on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Oak Hill East Cemetery in Palatka.
