He was predeceased by: his parents, Foster Eldon Backus and Pauline Payne Backus; and his stepmother Charlotte Lucille Backus. He is survived by: his wife Kay Backus; his sons, Jason (Laura) and Jeffrey Backus (Regan); and his grandchildren, Caroline, William, Harper, Griffin and Bryson.
