With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Opal Bretz of Oxford, Florida, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on May 8, 2021 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Gordon Mainland and Carolyn Mainland (Alyea); her husband Donald Bretz; and her brother Kenneth Mainland. She is survived by: her sons, Ron Bretz (Beverly) of Lapeer and Brian Bretz (Kathy) of Lapeer; her grandchildren, Jeanette Gilstad (Paul Pederson), Kari Pihlstrom (Nathan), Brooke Saglimbene (Steve) and Erin Ewald (Greg); and her great grandchildren, Paige, Lillia, Carter, Marley, Emili, Codie, Christian and Riley.
