She was predeceased by: her parents, James Swanton and Helen Swanton (Harker); her husband Richard K. Nelson; her daughter Ellen Elizabeth Nelson; and the parents of child, James Swanton and Helen Harker Swanton.
She is survived by: her children, Eric Nelson (Patricia) of Ocala, FL and Edith Pietrykowski (David) of Fuquay-Varina, NC; her grandchildren, Kendra McErlean (Gerard), Kristin Black, Ryan Nelson, Michael Black, Sydney Campbell (Bradley) and Whitney Pietrykowski; her great grandchildren, CJ Wloszczyna (Kimberly), Riley Nelson, Liam McErlean, Barrett Campbell and Emory Rae Campbell; and her siblings, James Swanton and Emily Swanton-Drum. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
