He was predeceased by: his parents, George Washington Hess and Maggie Hess (Meade); his siblings, Marvin Hess, Bertha Dye (Hess), Vada Jackson (Hess), Eula Yates (Hess), Ivan Hess, Beulah Dye (Hess), Woodrow Hess, Hazel Miller (Hess), Elizabeth King (Hess), Jack Hess and Ruby Grills (Hess); and his granddaughter Teresa Dianne Holton.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Hess of Oxford, FL; his children, Ronald G. Hess (Susan) of Oxford, FL and Phyllis G. Holton of Fruitland Park, FL; and his grandchildren, Tabitha Ann Sheets, Cory Gene Hess, Jennifer Diane Huff, Erin T. Mariano and Brian K. Holton. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
