It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Benny Gene Mercer of Oxford, Florida, born in Alma, Georgia, who passed away on August 23, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arvin Mercer and Inez Mercer (Raulerson); his wife Annie Ruth Smith Mercer; his son Terry Mercer; and his siblings, James Franklin Mercer and Minnie Alga Mercer.
He is survived by: his children, John Mercer (Barbara) of Williston, FL, Susan Mercer Hoffman of Moss Bluff, FL, Larry Helms (Misty Marie) of Enterprise, AL, Pamella Hutto (Kenneth) of Arlington, TX and Angie Alvey (Rick) of Brandon, FL; and his siblings, Shirley Smart, Betty Jo Miller, Sue Huffer, Troy L Mercer, Dianne King and Glenda J Mercer. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
