He is survived by: his devoted Shirley Hollingsworth; his children, Sherie Carbenia of Orlando and John Hollingsworth II of Chattanooga, Tennessee; his brother Ted Hollingsworth of Mims, Florida.; his grandchildren, Michael Carbenia of Orlando, Ashley Carbenia of Orlando, Tiffany Moffitt of North Carolina and John E. Hollingsworth of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.; and his great grandchildren, Tyler Vert, Eliana, Soren Carbenia, Colton King, Trenton, Everett Grove and Luke Hollingsworth.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home (1360 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32953). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM at the Brevard Memorial Park (301 N Cocoa Blvd, Cocoa, FL 32922).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in his memory.
