He was predeceased by: his parents, John Duncan Mahaffey and Genevieve Newcomb Mahaffey; and his sister Frances Herzog. He is survived by: his wife Marsha Jean Henry Deane; his daughters, Jill Keane (Joseph) and Starling Hendriks (Craig); and his stepchildren, Lydia Robinson (Bryan) and Henry Deane.
