With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Phillip Pettit of Osprey, Florida, who passed away on February 27, 2021 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Richard Pettit and Mary Pettit; his wife Jane; his children, Jennifer Marshall (Phil) and Greg; his brothers, Danny (Kelly) and Paul (Kim); his aunt Sandy Hodges; his sister Suzi Pettit; and his daughter-in-law Mamie Pettit. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations are requested to be made to The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sarasota, TideWell Hospice, or the Oral Cancer Foundation.

“In loving memory of Richard Phillip Pettit. I have many heart warming memories of my cousin Dick. I still think of him as "Dickie". Our mothers, Mary and Dorothy, were very close. So, during our early years the families would get together in Red Wing for picnics. Dickie was such a special member of our family. I admired him for his strong sense of family, religious devotion and Irish wit. I will cherish these memories forever. Rest in peace, Dickie.”
