He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Coghlan and Helen Coghlan; his children, James Thomas Coghlan and Sherry Kikoliashvili; his granddaughter Monique Nicole Grimaldi; and his sister Mary Ellen Rinaldi.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Jacqueline Denyes, Rose-Ann Coghlan, Mark Coghlan and Eugenia Ciccolone (Joseph); his stepchildren, Gregory Hart (Susan) and Wendy Nadjek; and his siblings, Margaret Mucha, Thomas Coghlan (Tina), James Coghlan (Rita), Kathleen Crispo (Joseph) and Carol Ann Feliccitti (Louis). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to a veterans organization of donors choice.
